Early Value for Thursday MLB Jock MKT Entry

Being a profitable sports bettor requires a lot of time and effort. It’s not a get rich quick scheme…you have to put in the time.

Every night when lines come out for the next day’s action I take a look at OddsJam to help me find early value.

Tonight, that value was on Jock MKT, which is a platform with the exact same payout structure as PrizePicks. Its lines and props offered are often different though, so it’s another great place to find value in the market.

Pick #1: Luis Arraez Under 1.5 Total Bases

Despite him being one of the best hitters in baseball this season with an average hovering around .400, the market tells us to take the under on Arraez total bases on Thursday.

We all know he’s having an insane year, and that might scare many people away from this pick, but not me. I may know a decent amount about sports, but I don’t know as much as the sportsbooks who set these lines.

Just look at the value identified on the OddsJam Fantasy Optimizer in the screenshot above.

On JockMKT, if you win above 54.25% of your player prop over/unders, then you’re profitable long-term. The Fantasy Optimizer finds plays with a higher probability of hitting than 54.25% and highlights them in green so it’s easy to know which props to add to your entry.

Pick #2: Manny Machado Under 1.5 Total Bases

Machado shows up on the Optimizer as well, but take a look at this example from the OddsJam Positive Expected Value tool.

The Positive Expected Value tool identifies profitable plays based on the markets from sportsbooks and DFS sites alike and highlights them in green.

Here, you can see Caesars, DraftKings, and Fliff all have the under 1.5 bases in the -140 to -145 range. That 54.25% rate I mentioned above that we need to win at equates to -119 fair odds, which is significantly better than the rest of the market.

Jock MKT, like the other DFS platforms, is a fixed payout platform. You get the same odds whether you take the over or the under. Why would you ever take Machado’s over with -119 implied odds on JockMKT when you can get +105 on DraftKings? You wouldn’t.

Instead, you realize that the market is telling us Machado is significantly more likely to go under his 1.5 total bases, making this a profitable leg of the entry.
