We have a full slate of games this Wednesday, which means there are PLENTY of bets to go around! We’re going to dive in and uncover the six sharpest MLB picks for Wednesday, August 23 using OddsJam.

Texas Rangers vs. Colorado Rockies

3:10 p.m. ET

This has been an interesting series so far and quite honestly some of the most fun games I’ve seen all week. Hopefully, the entertainment keeps coming tomorrow and the Rockies take care of business to close out this series. Yesterday, they barely edged out the Rangers winning 7-6. I expect that is the closest the Rangers will come to beating the Rockies if Texas couldn’t do it yesterday, so I am all in on the Rockies moneyline!

Chicago White Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles

7:05 p.m. ET

The White Sox fell to the Orioles yesterday 5-3 and I’m sure they are not happy about it. The Orioles are the Cinderella team of the MLB season, but there’s a lot to be said for a revenge game at home. I fully expect the White Sox to take care of business in this game and so does OddsJam.

This is a very good Positive EV play and I bet it as such.

Miami Marlins vs. Oakland Athletics

3:37 p.m. ET

I really don’t know what to think about this game in terms of who is winning and who is losing. This is a very even matchup with no ace pitcher to separate the teams. While the pitching matchup should be even, the batting lineup is also much of the same. I don’t expect this to be a scoring frenzy, and so I’m taking the under 7 total runs bet for this game. This is also a Positive EV play from OddsJam.

Washington Nationals vs. Seattle Mariners

4:10 p.m. ET

Staying on the west coast for this next pick, which is a game with an MLB team facing the Washington Nationals… so the moneyline is pretty lopsided. However, Anibal Sanchez has been hotter than usual with strikeouts lately, totaling four in each of his last two starts. I feel confident that Sanchez will be able to strike people out, and I can get his over 3.5 Ks at -134. Easy money!

Nationals vs. Mariners Pick: Anibal Sanchez Over 3.5 Ks | -134 at FanDuel

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs

8:05 p.m. ET

It’s always a good time for the respective fanbases when the Cardinals and the Cubs play each other and continue the decades-long rivalry.

Call it a hunch, but I don’t feel comfortable touching the moneyline on this game. After the Cardinals scored 13 runs in the second game of the doubleheader yesterday, it’s very possible they have quiet bats tonight. However, I don’t expect Zack McKinstry to have a quiet bat. McKinstry is a relatively new addition to the Cubs, and while his average is nothing special, he rarely goes back-to-back games without recording a hit. Last night, McKinstry did not record a hit. Tonight, I expect he will.

Cardinals vs. Cubs Pick: Zack McKinstry Over 0.5 Hits | -105 at FanDuel
