As seen in the screenshot above, I was able to get this NBA prop at -122 odds on Underdog Fantasy. Every other sportsbook ripped odds higher once the news dropped that Derrick White was going to start over Robert Williams.

As seen in the line movement chart above from OddsJam, DraftKings sportsbook ripped White’s over 2.5 rebounds from +100 odds to -160. DraftKings was reacting to new information in the market.

Line movement in sports betting can occur at any time. Injuries, lineup changes, weather forecasts, “sharp action” from a syndicate/sports betting hedge fund, etc. – all of these things can cause lines to jump.

Clearly, the market was not expecting Derrick White to start. Thus, once this news was announced, the market had to “re-price” the probability of White having over 2.5 rebounds. Most sportsbooks moved odds quickly and were on top of this news. However, Underdog Fantasy was asleep at the wheel, so we were able to hit an incredible player prop on this fantasy sports platforms.
