Welcome to football season! I’m so pumped for Lions vs. Chiefs tonight and then a full slate on Sunday.
One of my favorite ways to make money every football season is through arbitrage betting, because if done properly it’s literally risk-free money.
Sportsbooks set odds independently. They all have different odds, and sometimes they make mistakes. Sometimes these mistakes are so big that you can bet on equal & opposite outcomes on 2 sportsbooks and make a risk-free profit. That’s arbitrage. You’re essentially day-trading mistakes on sportsbooks to make a risk-free profit.
Here’s an example of an arbitrage bet…
Bet #1: Kenny Pickett Over 31.5 Passing Attempts | +105 at Barstool
Bet #2: Kenny Pickett Under 31.5 Passing Attempts | +104 at Caesars
Here’s a major discrepancy between Barstool and Caesars. Arbitrage opportunities like this are extremely rare across the market considering how many odds are offered.
A tiny percentage of total markets have arbitrage opportunities, but the OddsJam Arbitrage tool can find all of them for you, and shows dozens of opportunities at any given time.
Take a look at the tool below for this example:
As you can see in the screenshot, Caesars and Barstool are both offering plus-money odds. Odds move fast, so in the time I clicked on the tool I did miss the +112 at Caesars shown on top, but +104 is still incredible.
Barstool limited me to $178, so I put that into the arbitrage calculator seen next to the bet on the tool.
The tool spit out $178.87 to put at Caesars. Adding those two numbers together creates a total stake of $356.87.
No matter what happens, one of those two bets will win. Either Pickett goes over 31.5, or under. As long as the game is played, there is no in-between.
Whichever side wins, I’ll get paid out $364.90 for a risk-free profit of $8.03.
Arbitrage is rare, but OddsJam is updating millions of odds every second to point out these risk-free money opportunities when books’ lines get super out of sync with one another.
