Thanks to the Lakers not being able to win a single game, there’s no NBA action on the slate tonight. No big deal though, as there are plenty of baseball and hockey props to fill our PrizePicks bet slips with.

PrizePicks has even been nice enough to offer us two promo discounted lines with Shane McClanahan and Sandy Alcantara’s strikeout totals.

I put together a slip with five sharp player props for each of those two promo lines, so there are two slips and ten props in total. All of them are profitable, and were found using OddsJam.

Let’s walk through one of them.

Pick #1: Aleksander Barkov Under 2.5 Shots on Goal

I found this player prop pick on the OddsJam Fantasy Optimizer (bets in green = profitable).

As seen in the screenshot above from the PrizePicks Optimizer, Barkov under 2.5 shots on goal has a win rate of 54.33%.

To be profitable on PrizePicks, you need to win at least 54.25% of your player prop over/unders.

If you can win 55% of your player props (only losing 45%), then you’ll make money on PrizePicks long-term. If you can only win 52% of your picks (losing 48%), then you’ll lose money on PrizePicks. It’s that simple.

PrizePicks knows that most sports bettors have zero “edge” (or advantage) – they’ll will win 50%, lose 50% of their player prop over/unders. Thus, recreational bettors with no edge will lose money on PrizePicks long-term, as they can’t win their player props above 54.25% of the time.

The Fantasy Optimizer simply uses sportsbook odds to determine the win probability for each player prop on PrizePicks. Then, this betting tool highlights all of the picks with win probabilities above 54.25% in green, as those plays are profitable.

This play also showed up on our Positive Expected Value Tool.

The Positive EV Tool shows profitable bets from classic sportsbooks as well as sites like PrizePicks and Underdog Fantasy.

Bets in green and bold mean they are profitable, and if you take those consistently over time you will profit in the long run.

Notice how all the other sportsbooks significantly favor Barkov’s under 2.5 shots on goal. FanDuel and Caesars are both right around -140, and Fliff Social Sportsbook lists his total all the way at -145. The 54.25% necessary to win equates to -119 fair odds, which is why PrizePicks is listed in that screenshot at -119, clearly better than market value for his under.
